AB InBev Q1 Profit Climbs, Revenues Down - Quick Facts
(RTTNews) - Belgian brewer Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, known as AB InBev (BUD, AHBIF.PK) reported Wednesday that its first-quarter profit attributable to equity holders of the company climbed to $2.68 billion or $1.63 per share from last year's $1.37 billion or $0.84 per share.
Normalized profit attributable to equity holders of AB InBev was $2.294 billion, compared to $1.416 billion a year ago, driven by strong top line growth and favorable net finance results. Normalized earnings per share increased to $1.40 from $0.87 last year.
Revenue, meanwhile, declined to $10.45 billion from $10.61 billion last year. On an organic basis, revenue grew 6.2 percent in the quarter, with revenue per hl growth of 7.5 percent on both a reported and constant geographic mix basis, driven by revenue management and premiumization initiatives.
Total volumes declined 1.2 percent organically, with own beer volumes down by 1.0 percent.
