Activision Blizzard Announces 334% Gain In Q2 Profit

(RTTNews) - Activision Blizzard (ATVI) reported a profit for its second quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line totaled $404 million, or $0.54 per share. This was up from $93 million, or $0.13 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.42 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 51.0% to $1.57 billion. This was up from $1.04 billion last year.
