Advanced Energy Industries Q1 Profit Rises; Issues Q2 Outlook

(RTTNews) - Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (AEIS) Monday reported first-quarter net income of $14.7 million, or $0.35 per share, compared to $6.8 million or $0.17 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

Adjusted net income rose to $18.1 million or $0.43 per share from $11.7 million or $0.29 per share in the comparable quarter last year.

On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.41 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Sales for the quarter rose to $140.95 million from $111.81 million last year, while six analysts estimated revenues of $142.60 million for the quarter.

Looking forward to the second quarter, the company expects earnings of $0.26 to $0.31 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.34 to $0.40 per share and sales of $135 million to $145 million. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $0.47 per share on revenues of 154.48 million for the quarter.
