Amphenol Q3 Results Top Estimates; Lifts Full-year Outlook - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Fiber optic connectors and interconnect systems maker Amphenol Corp. (APH) Wednesday reported third-quarter net income attributable to the company of $182.21 million or $0.57 per share, higher than $160.8 million or $0.50 per share in the previous year.

Excluding one-time items, adjusted earnings totaled $0.58, while the firm posted $0.49 per share last year.

On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.57 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company has restated its prior-year results to reflect a two-for-one stock split which was effective in October 2014.

Net sales for the quarter grew to $1.36 billion from $1.15 billion in the preceding year. Analysts estimated revenues of $1.34 billion for the quarter.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company expects adjusted earnings per share to be in the range of $0.58 to $0.60.

Sales are anticipated to be between $1.341 billion and $1.381 billion. Street analysts expect earnings of $0.59 per share, on revenues of $1.37 billion for the quarter.

For full year 2014, the firm expects to report adjusted earnings of $2.20 to $2.22 per share. Amphenol expects to achieve sales in the range of $5.260 billion to $5.300 billion, an increase of 14% to 15% over 2013.

This compares to the prior guidance for adjusted earnings of $2.17 to $2.20 per share, and sales of $5.210 billion to $5.270 billion.

Analysts expect the company to earn $2.20 per share, on revenues of $5.27 billion for the year.
