Banc of America Securities Names Michael Molnar Head of Premier Equity

NEW YORK, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Banc of America Securities (BAS) today announced that Michael Molnar has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of the Premier Equity Group (PEG), a new initiative within equities that will provide dedicated sales coverage to the growing middle markets segment and prime brokerage clients. Molnar is based in New York and reports to Geoffrey Snyder, Managing Director and Head of Institutional Sales, and Jeffrey Cohen, Managing Director and Head of New York Institutional Equity Sales.

"Michael Molnar has a proven track record of building and leading successful sales organizations and we look forward to leveraging his expertise as we continue expanding the footprint of our institutional shares and derivatives businesses," said Jeff Cohen.

For the past five years Molnar has served as head of Citigroup's Institutional Investor Group, a sales initiative he was instrumental in building. Previously, he was Head of Global Retail Sales and Trading at Smith Barney, responsible for the retail network's trading of the NYSE, NASDAQ, 19c3, convertible, options and international products. Molnar began his career in the training program at Shearson Lehman Brothers where he ultimately served as sales manager on the Nasdaq sales trading desk. He holds a bachelor of science degree from Boston University.
