MONROVIA, Calif. & PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 18, 2005--SeeBeyond (Nasdaq: SBYN) and BDP International (BDP) today announced that BDP has deployed the SeeBeyond Integrated Composite Application Network Suite 5 as a foundation component for delivering global trade compliance & documentation services through its BDP Xpedion operating system.
BDP International is one of the leading privately held logistics and transportation management firms headquartered in the U.S. In recent years, BDP has taken progressive steps to build upon existing infrastructure, identifying the need to deploy a common platform across its global organization to minimize operational costs and maximize the efficiency of its transportation and logistics services. After an extensive technology evaluation process, BDP selected the SeeBeyond ICAN Suite to provide the Web services-based business process platform.
"With a historic commitment to technology innovation dating back to the late 1970s, information quality has long been one of the currencies of our service," said Richard J. Bolte Jr., president of BDP International. "The increasingly complex trade facilitation functions we provide demand a robust information delivery platform to support the supply chain management needs of our customers. We selected SeeBeyond to provide this platform component, and look forward to the ICAN suite playing a critical and supporting role in enhancing the delivery of knowledge and services to our customer base around the world."
"In conjunction with ongoing internal Xpedion development programs, the SeeBeyond platform will enable the unification of BDP's global IT infrastructure, providing a more flexible and robust communication mechanism for our clients," added Mark Stocksdale, Chief Technology Officer, BDP. "It will also support our migration to a planned Service-Oriented Architecture, better enabling BDP to deliver service-based solutions to customers."
Essential international trade services for BDP customers will be the first deployment on the SeeBeyond platform. Residing within the BDP Xpedion environment, these global regulatory compliance and documentation services include: Denied Party Screening, U.S. Export License Determination, Global Classification, AES and Documentation. Xpedion is becoming the foundation for delivery of comprehensive, high-value knowledge and services to BDP customers.
A number of significant components of Xpedion are operational today as BDP advances a multi-year migration to Xpedion across all required business capabilities and all customers, large and small. Some of the world's leading chemical companies, which represent approximately 60 percent of BDP's client portfolio, will be among the first beneficiaries to leverage the new services from Xpedion.
"Our primary goal is to drive value and efficiency for leading organizations worldwide," said Carv Moore, president and COO of SeeBeyond. "With BDP, we are confident that our technology is being utilized to do just that, as ICAN 5 plays an integral role in supporting the seamless delivery of comprehensive, high-value knowledge and service delivery to its global customer base."
