BearingPoint Appoints Industry Veteran Connie Weaver as Chief Marketing Officer

MCLEAN, Va., June 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BearingPoint, Inc. , one of the world's largest business consulting and systems integration firms, today named Connie Weaver executive vice president and chief marketing officer (CMO). Weaver, 52, will have global responsibility for the company's marketing, branding, investor relations and communications. She will report to Harry You, chief executive officer of BearingPoint.

Weaver's extensive background includes leadership positions at some of the top names in corporate America. She was most recently executive vice president Public Relations, Marketing & Brand at AT&T, where she was a member of the executive leadership reporting to CEO David Dorman.

As AT&T's Vice President of Investor Relations, Weaver increased the quantity and value of information provided to the financial community. In 1999, Investor Relations Magazine recognized Weaver's overall improvements to AT&T's investor relations practices with their award for the Most Improved Investor Relations Program. Most recently at AT&T, Weaver was responsible for the global branding of the corporation around the "world's networking company" theme, for which she was recognized as 2004 Communicator of the Year by the Business Marketing Association (BMA).

Before joining AT&T in 1996, Weaver held senior positions with responsibility for investor relations and financial communications for Microsoft Corp. and MCI, Inc. She spent 10 years at McGraw Hill in a number of management positions in product management, marketing and corporate planning, most recently serving as executive director for a unit of BusinessWeek. Weaver serves on the board of Applied Digital Solutions Inc., based in Delray Beach, Fla.

Weaver holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland and has completed post-graduate financial management, marketing and strategic planning courses at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University and Imede (Switzerland), as well as an executive program in finance from Stanford University. Weaver has authored numerous college and high school textbooks and white papers on topics ranging from investor relations and value management to electronic office procedures.
