Business Objects Selects Macrovision to Lower Total Cost of Ownership FLEXnet(TM) Publisher Update Service Module Streamlines the Process of Updating and Managing Crystal Reports XI Installations
Macrovision Corporation today announced that Business Objects has selected Macrovision's FLEXnet(TM) Publisher Update Service Module (Update Service) to automate the process of keeping customers current with the latest updates. Business Objects has deployed Update Service for Crystal Reports(R) XI, the new version of the company's industry-leading reporting solution.
"Update Service provides us with the ability to quickly distribute updates so our customers can more easily stay current with new versions of our solution," said Lance Walter, vice president of product marketing at Business Objects. "Update Service helps lower the total cost of ownership for our product and improves the overall ease of management for our customers by streamlining the process of getting updates to the software."
"Just as Macrovision's InstallShield(R) is the de facto standard for software installations, Update Service sets a new standard for updating applications," said Rick Harold, vice president of emerging technologies for Macrovision. "The adoption of Update Service by leading software vendors such as Business Objects clearly shows that enterprises recognize the importance of keeping an application current in order to maximize its value for customers and vendors alike."
Update Service is a key component of Macrovision's FLEXnet line of Software Value Management solutions, which include software installation, updating, packaging, licensing, entitlement management, end user management, and usage optimization.
