C-COR Takes the Lead at Key Industry Forums This Summer

C-COR Incorporated (NASDAQ:CCBL) today announced that C-COR subject experts will help lead discussions this summer of the cable industry’s most highly debated topics in forums ranging from NCTA’s The Cable Show to SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo to C-COR’s Third Annual Global IP Summit slated for Cannes, France in June. C-COR products and solutions serve the industry’s drive for competitive growth in next generation advertising and revenue-generating video, bandwidth expansion technology, and service quality. Throughout the upcoming events, C-COR's thought-leaders will outline and discuss these topics, including implementation strategies to maximize operators' revenue gain, customer service, and network capacity. At NCTA’s The Cable Show, May 7-9 in Las Vegas: Ken Wright, Chief Technology Officer, is moderating a panel on bandwidth management strategies for cable operators, addressing a range of topics from mitigating P2P traffic to utilizing Switched Digital to maximize bandwidth capacity. Dr. Joe Matarese, SVP of Advanced Global Technology, will present a paper on switched digital programming, discussing ways that measurements in place today for standard television can be adapted to switched digital to enable advanced advertising. Robert Cruickshank, VP OSS Market Strategy, will present two papers, one on fair bandwidth and the other on a new process to verify voice installations. The first paper explores the bandwidth constraints placed on today's network from P2P, over-the-top, and other applications, suggesting strategies for reacting to them and for reasonably predicting their impact. The second paper proposes a method for operators to increase successful installation rates of digital voice services. Venk Mutalik, Chief Technologist, will present a paper on multi wavelength access networks which allow operators to provide additional services on their existing infrastructure at significantly less cost than new fiber construction. C-COR again will host a pre-opening General Session breakfast at SCTE’s Cable-Tec Expo, June 19-22 in Orlando. Last year’s standing room-only breakfast featured industry experts covering the future of Switched Digital Video. At this year’s Expo, industry heavyweights will discuss strategies for Building the Sustainable, Competitive Network. Additionally, C-COR subject experts will present at numerous Expo technical sessions: Dan Rice, Vice President, Assurance Solutions, is presenting a paper on VoIP growth management which examines strategies for maximizing Quality of Service for digital voice and applying QoS standards to all applications. Robert Cruickshank will present a paper on a new process to verify voice, video, and data installations, enabling operators to establish baseline metrics for triple-play services to ease installations and troubleshooting. Larry Richards, Senior Director of Global Sales and Operations, will moderate two panels addressing troubleshooting for advanced RF/IP and across multiple platforms. Paula Weaver, Product Manager, Assurance, will present a paper on network management across multiple services, suggesting a strategy to communicate outage and network information across an MSO's entire organization. The Third Annual C-COR Global IP Summit (June 28-29 in Cannes, France) has attracted a roster of international and cross-industry experts to discuss strategies and the impact of personalized entertainment. Leaders from the cable, mobile, content, and telco arenas will share their strategies for capitalizing on the delivery of personalized services in today’s cross-platform environment.
