Canada Post strike affects www.PinkCherry.ca shipping times.

As Canada Post strike hits sex toy industry hard, PinkCherry adult novelty online store utilizes alternative carrier options.

TORONTO, Oct. 24, 2018 /CNW/ - PinkCherry, the leading Canadian e-commerce retail and wholesale distributor of adult novelty products and lingerie with headquarters in Canada and distribution centres in Oakville and Las Vegas, USA, has been implementing alternative shipping arrangements to ensure service continuity to its valued customers.

PinkCherry (www.PinkCherry.ca) offers both consumers and retailers a one-stop shop for buying competitively priced adult novelty products. Along with a wide range of pleasure-enhancing products offered by PinkCherry, the company’s lingerie banner LACE (www.LACE.ca) is servicing the mainstream consumer market. PinkCherry operates a total of 110,000 sq ft warehouse space in Canada and USA. 2018 marks the 10 year anniversary of the successfully growing sex toys and lingerie business. (CNW Group/PinkCherry)

The recent rolling strikes of Canada Post workers have resulted in a significant slowdown of e-commerce delivery services. To online stores, this means not being able to ship products to consumers on time. To online shoppers, this means delays in receiving their purchases.

As the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has continued their strike action that started on Monday, October 22, 2018, PinkCherry had to look into employing tactics to avoid any distribution interruptions during the strike.

"On Tuesday, we had a skid of sex toys sitting in our Oakville distribution centre, ready to be picked up by Canada Post. Finding out about the rotating strike affecting Toronto, we agreed to delay shipping these orders by a day. But the rotating strike has now been extended to two consecutive days, and we have no other option than to switch to a different carrier in order to fulfil obligations to our customers," - explains Daniel Freedman, PinkCherry CEO.

"PinkCherry is ready to go an extra mile to make sure that our customers continue enjoying the excellent experience we have always provided," - says Mr. Freedman. "Daily, we are incurring an estimated $1,600 to $2,000 incremental shipping cost associated with the unexpected change of a carrier. We refuse passing this cost to our customers."

As of today, www.PinkCherry.ca customers whose orders were packed in the previous few days for Canada Post's pick-up will experience delays in receiving their online purchases. PinkCherry will be shipping new online orders through another carrier to ensure that fun-packed parcels are delivered on time.
