CAPG Continues MACRA Webinar Series with CMS

LOS ANGELES, June 16, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- CAPG continues its complimentary 2017 webinar series with a panel on Advancing Care Information, Friday, July 7. Registration is now open for the session, taking place from 3:00-4:30 pm Eastern / 12:00-1:30 pm Pacific. Panelists will discuss advancing care information and implementing the new meaningful use category in the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), one of the options under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA).

CAPG is the nation's leading professional association for accountable physician organizations, composed of more than 250 medical groups and independent practice associations across 42 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. CAPG members operate under a capitated, coordinated care model that is the essence of the nation's health reform movement from volume to value. Learn more at http://capg.org.

The association is offering the series to help physicians and physician groups nationwide prepare for implementation of MACRA through the Quality Payment Program (QPP). Through a co-branding agreement with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the series combines CMS's expertise on the regulation contents with CAPG members' knowledge of how physicians and physician groups are responding on the ground to its important changes.

"MACRA has bipartisan support, and the movement from volume to value continues to spread throughout our country," said Donald H. Crane, CAPG President and CEO. "CAPG members are poised to share their best practices with other physicians nationwide, given their experience with value-based delivery models.

"Our physician organizations have been participating in alternative payment models for decades and are uniquely qualified to share their successes and lessons learned with the rest of the country as we embark on the MACRA journey together," Crane said.

"Our most recent MACRA webinar on the quality component of MIPS had overwhelming positive feedback from viewers," said Amy Nguyen Howell, MD, Chief Medical Officer at CAPG. "Folks from the audience said the webinar offered a unique view from the medical group's perspective, showing how physicians can achieve operational excellence in this category of MIPS."

Future webinar segments will cover other MIPS categories and advanced Alternative Payment Models (APMs). To learn more about the series visit http://capg.org/qpp.
