Chemical Declaration Standard Published for Aerospace and Defense Products

WARRENDALE, Pa., May 11, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- IPC® (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) and IAEG® (International Aerospace Environmental Group) announce the publication of IPC-1754, Materials and Substances Declaration for Aerospace and Defense and Other Industries. This new, voluntary standard will support the aerospace and defense industry's ability to comply with complex chemical regulations such as the European Union's REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals).

The new IPC standard identifies the data elements and electronic data transfer protocols for reporting product-related chemical information (including chemicals contained in hardware products) to be used in a process known as materials and substances declaration. IPC-1754 provides the basis for standardized product chemical reporting through the global aerospace and defense industry supply chain. IPC-1754 also may be used by other industries in conducting their materials and substances declaration activities.
