Clearwater Paper Q2 Profit Down

(RTTNews) - Clearwater Paper Corporation (CLW) Wednesday reported second-quarter net income of $11.7 million or $0.52 per share, compared to $21.5 million or $0.91 per share last year.

Adjusted net earnings were $11.6 million or $0.51 per share, compared to $23.0 million or $0.97 per share last year. On average, five analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit of $0.67 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter second quarter dropped to $471.0 million from $473.6 million last year. Analysts expected revenue of $476.57 million for the quarter.
