Cleveland County, OK and IBTS Celebrate Close-Out of Federally Funded Projects

ASHBURN, Va., Oct. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and Cleveland County, OK, recently held a public meeting to showcase the completion of multiple federally funded disaster recovery projects.

Cedar Lane Road

  • 2 miles of asphalt overlay (2') completed on July 18, 2017
  • Project costs - $364,525

Post Oak Road

  • 1 mile of asphalt overlay (3") completed on July 18, 2017
  • Project costs - $205,367

Etowah Road – 120th – 156th

  • 3 miles of asphalt overlay (2") completed on June 10, 2016
  • Project costs - $523,074

Maguire Road

  • 3 miles asphalt overlay (2") and concrete cross drain end extension completed on December 22, 2016
  • Project costs – $545,079

Etowah Road – 180th to Pottawatomie County Line

  • 3 miles asphalt overlay (3") completed on June 10, 2016
  • Project costs - $422,953

Harrah/Newalla Road – State Highway 9 North to Southeast 119th Street

  • 8 miles of asphalt overlay (2.5") and drainage repair/replacement with an expected completion date of 9/30/18.
  • Project costs - $3,195,975

Harrah/Newalla Road – Southeast 119th Street – Southeast 89th Street

  • 2 miles of asphalt overlay (4") and drainage repair/replacement completed on June 27, 2018
  • Project costs - $2,024,447

East Indian Hills Road -156th Avenue Northeast to Harrah/Newalla Road

  • 2 5/8 miles of 2.5" of S4 asphalt overlay completed on November 20, 2017
  • Project costs - $1,093,591

Franklin Road

  • 3 miles asphalt overlay (2") completed on June 10, 2016
  • Project costs - $679,840

180th Avenue

  • 2 miles asphalt overlay (5") and minor drainage repair completed on December 22, 2016
  • Project costs - $662,504

"It has been amazing to watch as the entire community has pulled together to rebuild lives and property following the devastation that struck East Cleveland County in 2012 and again in 2013," said Darry Stacy, County Commissioner - District 2. "We are glad to bring some closure to our part as we complete the transportation projects we received funding for through CDBG grants. We have built back stronger and better than we were."

Held at the Little Axe Community Center in Norman, OK, the event brought citizens together to learn more about these projects, and featured family entertainment and refreshments from local food trucks. IBTS also donated a freezer to Little Axe Community Center to help support their program feeding the homeless.
