Crescendo Partners Urges Aéropostale To Immediately Pursue Sale Of Company

(RTTNews) - Crescendo Partners urged the Board of Directors of Aéropostale Inc.(ARO) to immediately commence a broad sale process for the entire company.

In a letter to the company's board, Crescendo said it believes that numerous potential buyers will be interested in acquiring Aéropostale because of its strong brand name and its compelling valuation.

Crescendo has urged the Company to set up a special committee of independent directors and hire investment bankers to run a broad sale process. Crescendo Partners, together with its affiliates, is a significant stockholder of Aéropostale.

Crescendo also said it intends to nominate directors for election at the 2014 Annual Meeting to ensure that the Company is taking the appropriate steps to maximize stockholder value.
