Finnair Traffic Performance in March 2015

In March, Finnair's overall capacity grew by 3.8 per cent and traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 3.5 per cent year-on-year. Passenger load factor was 78.9 per cent.

The capacity in Asian traffic decreased by 0.8 per cent and the traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres grew by 1.5 per cent year-on-year.

The capacity in European traffic grew by 8.9 per cent and traffic measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometres by 4.2 per cent year-on-year.

In January-March, the passenger unit revenue* per available seat kilometre was flat year-on-year and totalled 5.14 euro cents.

"In the first quarter of 2015, the passenger unit revenues developed favourably in all traffic areas apart from European traffic. However, the negative unit revenue development in Europe held the overall passenger unit revenue at last year’s level,” says Finnair CFO Mika Stirkkinen.

In cargo, traffic measured in revenue tonne kilometres decreased by 17.9 per cent and the overall capacity by 0.1 per cent year-on-year. The load factor fell by 12.3 percentage points year-on-year and was 56.6 per cent.

In March, 90.3 per cent of all Finnair flights arrived on schedule (90.2).
