First Looks at the 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt., April 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- In a recent release, Toyota revealed its intention to return to its modern line up and revamp the Toyota Corolla with a whole new release. The new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback was announced at the 2018 New York Auto Show, where Toyota gave us our first real look at the new vehicle and what prospective buyers can expect. 

Firstly, the new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback will be replacing the previous 1.8-liter four-pot engine, and instead incorporating a brand new TNGA 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Prospective drivers can expect this engine to produce up to 168 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque, diving the new Toyota Corolla a dramatic increase in power compared to the previous year. 

Additionally, the new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback also will have two all-new transmission options, a standard six-speed iMT manual, and a Dynamic-Shift continuously variable unit. These two transmissions will allow the new Toyota Corolla to receive power directly and exclusively to the wheels, giving it better handling and acceleration when it needs it. 

In terms of interior, the new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback will feature a new 8-inch touchscreen, which will run the latest of Toyota's Entune infotainment system. Also, the new Toyota Corolla also features Apple CarPlay standard, but no Android Auto available. 

The new 2019 Toyota Corolla Hatchback will be available later this year, and while the pricing for the new vehicle has not yet been released, speculations place it near the Corolla iM's initial base price of $18,850.
