Google Search Chief Singhal To Step Down

(RTTNews) - Alphabet Inc.'s (GOOGL, GOOG) Google has appointed the head of its artificial-intelligence research to run its search engine.

John Giannandrea, who has run Google's artificial-intelligence efforts since late 2013, will take over from Amit Singhal, who said he is leaving in late February after 15 years at Google.

"As I entered the fifteenth year of working at Google, I've been asking myself the question, "what would you want to do for the next fifteen?" The answer has overwhelmingly been: give back to others... Feb 26 will be my last day at Google," Singhal wrote in a Google+ post.
