Intuit Introduces Online Payroll Solution
Intuit Inc. (Nasdaq:INTU)
today launched Intuit Online Payroll, a new, easy-to-use, Web-based
payroll solution for small businesses. This offering helps new employers
and other small businesses set up and run payroll easily and
efficiently, replacing cumbersome pen, paper and spreadsheet methods.
Intuit Online Payroll builds on the company’s
lineup of leading payroll solutions currently used by more than 1
million small businesses.
Intuit Online Payroll guides employers every step of the way –
from setup, to paying employees and taxes, to filing state and federal
forms – showing them what to do and when to do
it. The solution helps save time with a simple one-time set-up
questionnaire, automatic calculations, to-do lists and e-mail reminders
when key tasks are due. It also gives employers the freedom to manage
payroll more efficiently anytime, anywhere they have an Internet
connection and does not require QuickBooks financial management
solutions.
"Intuit Online Payroll is a great addition to
our portfolio of drop-dead simple payroll solutions that work the way
small business owners want to work,” said
Ginny Lee, vice president and general manager of Intuit’s
small business payroll unit. "It also extends
the ease and benefits of our No. 1-selling small business payroll
solution to employers who aren’t using
QuickBooks.” Get Up and Running Quickly
Employers can get started easily and quickly by completing a simple
one-time setup questionnaire. A checklist of required information,
available prior to setup, tells employers the data they will need to
supply before beginning.
An easy-to-use interface and step-by-step instructions guide employers
through each payroll task. Answers to commonly asked questions are
available, providing additional assistance when employers are likely to
need it, further simplifying and streamlining the process.
"We evaluated various payroll solutions but
didn’t want to worry about dealing with
additional personnel,” said Beth Bledsoe,
owner of Santa Paula Glass Co. in Santa Paula, Calif. "Intuit
Online Payroll makes it easy for me to access the program from anywhere
and run the payroll myself with no additional help.”
When employers need additional assistance, Intuit’s
award-winning support team is available to answer any question.
Payroll in Three Easy Steps
After setup is complete, Intuit Online Payroll walks employers through
payroll in three easy steps: paying employees, paying taxes and filing
tax forms.
Employers simply enter the hours worked by each employee for the pay
period, and paychecks and stubs can then be printed on the spot or
issued via Intuit’s free, built-in Direct
Deposit service. Intuit Online Payroll automatically calculates
compensation, deductions and withholdings. It keeps tax tables up to
date, helping to ensure that employers always have the latest rates.
Additionally, more than 20 customizable reports show how payroll affects
the business’s bottom line.
With Intuit Online Payroll’s Liability
Payment Center, employers can have e-mail reminders sent to them when
payroll tax payments are due, tracking who gets paid and how much is
owed. The solution also provides ready-to-print tax forms for federal
filings and for many states as well, including 940, 941, W-2 and W-3
forms. This reduces the need to fill in any additional information by
hand. Employers can just print, sign and mail the form.
"I was hesitant about hiring more employees
because of the various federal reports, payroll terms and employee paper
work,” said Chris Long, owner of Convective
Designs in Dumfries, Va. "Intuit Online
Payroll has eased the transition and made it easier for me to understand
the federal tax policies and procedures.”
Payroll data is password protected, allowing employers to restrict
access to just themselves, or extend it to specific employees, business
partners, or accountants. Intuit Online Payroll does not currently
integrate with QuickBooks software.
Pricing and Availability
Intuit Online Payroll is available direct from Intuit at www.payroll.com,
currently priced at $29.95 per month. Special discount offers and
