KapStone Paper Profit Rises, Yet Misses Estimate

(RTTNews) - KapStone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS) Wednesday reported first-quarter net earnings of $32 million or $0.33 per share compared with $18.5 million or $0.19 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $35 million or $0.36 per share compared with $20.4 million or $0.21 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $549 million compared with $320 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.42 per share on revenues of $554 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
