Mercadolibre Inc. Earnings Advance 68% In Q2

(RTTNews) - Mercadolibre Inc. (MELI) revealed a profit for its second quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $32.7 million, or $0.74 per share. This was higher than $19.5 million, or $0.44 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.59 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 29.4% to $199.64 million. This was up from $154.31 million last year.
