Orthofix International Announces Retirement of Peter Hewett From Board of Directors

Orthofix International N.V. (NASDAQ: OFIX) (the Company) announced today that Peter Hewett will be retiring from the Company’s Board of Directors and will not seek reelection at the upcoming Annual General Meeting. Mr. Hewett has been a Director of Orthofix since March of 1992. He was the Deputy Group Chairman between March 1998 and December 2000, and has served as the Deputy Chairman of the Board beginning in 2005.

His broad international business background brought immeasurable operating knowledge to Orthofix that aided in the Company’s consistent organic and inorganic growth over a number of years. Peter’s human resource skills have also served the Company well as he has been a mentor and advisor for many members of the Board and the senior management team.
