Otter Tail Profit Soars - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Otter Tail Corp. (OTTR) Monday reported fourth-quarter net income of $12.7 million or $0.35 per share compared with $3 million or $0.08 per share last year.

Results for the prior-year quarter included losses from discontinued operations of $14 million or $0.39 per share.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.52 per share compared with or $0.47 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $233 million compared with $212.6 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.40 per share on revenues of $207.6 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to fiscal year 2014, Otter projects earnings of $1.55 to $1.75 per share. Analysts expect earnings of $1.54 per share.

Otter expects capital expenditures for 2014 to be $195 million compared with $164 million in the previous year.
