Paul Allen Joins Rite Aid Health Solutions as Vice President, Sales

Rite Aid Corporation (NYSE, PCX:RAD) today announcedthat Paul Allen, a 19-year health care veteran with extensiveexperience in both prescription benefit management and managed care,has joined Rite Aid Health Solutions, Rite Aid's pharmacy benefitmanagement company, as Vice President, Sales.

Allen, 46, is responsible for all sales activity for Rite AidHealth Solutions and reports to Greg Drew, Vice President, GeneralManager of Rite Aid Health Solutions.

Before joining Rite Aid Health Solutions, Allen served as Directorof Sales for the Western United States for Express Scripts Inc., oneof the country's largest pharmacy benefit management companies. Hebrings extensive experience in contract negotiation and providernetwork development from his prior experience as President and CEO ofCalifornia Bankers Insurance Association from 1998 to 2000, SeniorVice President of MedLink, Inc, a preferred provider organization,from 1996 to 1998 and as Senior Vice President of One Call Medical,Inc., a preferred provider organization, from 1994 to 1996.

Between 1991 and 1994 Allen served as National Director ofMarketing and Managed Care for Signal Medical Services, Inc., asubsidiary of Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. He began his careeras an Account Executive for Bankers Life and Casualty Company.

Allen holds a Bachelors degree from Cambridge University inEngland.
