Tribune Names New Publishers/CEOs For Orlando Sentinel, Hartford Courant
(RTTNews) - Diversified media and marketing solutions company Tribune Publishing Co. (TPUB) said Friday that it has appointed Nancy Meyer as the new publisher and CEO of the Orlando Sentinel Media Group, and Rick Daniels as publisher and CEO of the Hartford Courant Media Group.
Meyer will succeed Howard Greenberg, who has served as publisher and CEO of the Orlando Sentinel Media Group as well as Sun-Sentinel Media Group for the last six-and-a-half years. Greenberg will focus full-time on the Sun-Sentinel Media Group in South Florida. The appointments are effective from early November.
Meyer and Greenberg will continue to report to Tribune Publishing Co. CEO Jack Griffin, as will Daniels, who joins the company next month.
Griffin said, "Nancy, Howard and Rick are among the best leaders in the industry, and their appointments will help ensure Tribune Publishing's continued success as a diversified, multiplatform company. Our iconic publications are the most-respected news and information brands in their respective communities."
Meyer's promotion to publisher and CEO of Orlando Sentinel comes after her eight-year stint at the Hartford Courant Media Group, where she introduced a number of innovative print and digital experiences.
Daniels, who replaces Meyer at the Hartford Courant, is an industry veteran who has overseen media brands such as The Boston Globe and GateHouse Media New England, as well as numerous digital start-ups and early-stage ventures.
Daniels most recently served as Chief Operating Officer of GoLocal24, a Rhode Island-based digital news company.
TPUB closed Thursday's trading at $18.75, down $0.62 on a volume of 158,500 shares.
