Winmark Profit Rises

(RTTNews) - Winmark Corp (WINA) on Wednesday reported second-quarter net earnings of $4.8 million or $1.00 per share compared with $4.3 million or $0.82 per share last year.

Revenues for the quarter were $15.5 million compared with $14 million in the prior year.

The company attributed the growth in earnings to an increase in royalties in the franchising business and the positive impact of the previously announced self-tender offer.

Winmark creates, supports and finances business. At June 27, there were 1,116 franchises in operation under the brands Plato's Closet, Once Upon A Child, Play It Again Sports, Music Go Round and Style Encore.
