WMF Restoration Warns Chicago About Mold Growth after Recent Flooding

CHICAGO, Sep. 08, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Chicagoland experienced a rain soaked Labor Day Weekend and many home and business owners had to deal with property damage due to water intrusion. Water Mold Fire Restoration of Chicago assisted many of those people with the damage by removing and drying residential and commercial building structures. "It was a real busy weekend, not the kind of Labor Day I was hoping for," said Nick Feuerstein who is head of operations at WMF.

Some norther suburbs saw upwards of 5 inches of rain and considering it was a holiday weekend, just about everyone in the area felt the effects whether it be cancelled parties, flooded roads or in the case of WMF's clients, water damaged property. According to Nick, the most common cause of flooded homes in the area is due to sump pump failure and it is highly recommended to have a battery powered backup sump pump to help avoid this type of damage.

As we move forward from this not so memorable holiday, Water Mold Fire Restoration is warning home and business owners to look out for another not so friendly reminder of the wet holiday; indoor mold growth. Mr Feuerstein told us that, "Many people who had water intrusion and think a property is dry but did not get professional assistance will start to notice mold near baseboards since the building materials behind the drywall are still wet. Others will find it from small amounts of water that went unnoticed in places like an attic."

If you have experienced any of the above scenarios and would like to have an expert evaluate your property, please contact Water Mold Fire Restoration of Chicago via the contact information below.
