BRAZIL: Current Account Posts US$ 798 Million Surplus In March

(RTTNews) - The Brazilian current account surplus fell 42.4% from a year before in March, to US$ 798 million, according to data released by the country's central bank.

During the first quarter, the Brazilian current account recorded a US$ 3.219 billion deficit, 30.7% lower than in the first quarter of 2017.

In 12 months through March, the current account deficit reached US$ 8.337 billion, or 0.41% of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The ratio between the deficit and the GDP recorded in March was 7.6% higher than the recorded in February.

The current account includes trade balance figures between Brazil and other countries transfers.
