Luxembourg Inflation Accelerates In March
(RTTNews) - Luxembourg's consumer prices increased for the second straight month in March at a faster pace, figures from the statistical office STATEC showed Thursday.
The consumer price index index climbed 0.3 percent year-over-year in March, faster than February's 0.1 percent slight increase. In January, prices had fallen 0.4 percent.
Health costs grew 0.7 percent in March from the previous year and prices of food and alcoholic beverages rose by 0.1 percent. Meanwhile, utility costs and transport costs dipped by 1.7 percent and 0.6 percent, respectively.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose at a slower pace of 0.14 percent in March, following a 1.7 percent rise in the preceding month. It was also the second successive monthly increase.
