Aberdeen Emerging Markets Equity Income Fund, Inc. Announces Quarterly Distribution

PHILADELPHIA, March 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Aberdeen Emerging Markets Equity Income Fund, Inc. (NYSE American: AEF) (the "Fund"), a closed-end equity fund, announced today that it will pay a distribution of US $0.063 per share on March 31, 2021 to all shareholders of record as of March 24, 2021 (ex-dividend date March 23, 2021).

As announced on December 21, 2020, consistent with the Fund's distribution policy to pay distributions quarterly, comprised of net investment income generated by dividends paid from the Fund's underlying securities, the Fund will maintain the annualized distribution rate for the 2021 calendar year at 2.5%, payable quarterly. This policy will be subject to ongoing review by the Board.

In January 2022, a Form 1099-DIV will be sent to shareholders, which will state the amount and composition of distributions and provide information with respect to their appropriate tax treatment for the 2021 calendar year.   

The Fund is managed and advised by Aberdeen Asset Managers Limited. The Fund's shares trade on the NYSE American under the symbol "AEF".
