Anthem Suffers Hacker Attack: WSJ

(RTTNews) - Anthem Inc. (ANTM), the second-biggest health insurer in the U.S., suffered an attack by hackers in which "tens of millions" of records may have been stolen, the Wall Street Journal reported. The attack was discovered last week.

Hackers broke into a database that held personal information of about 80 million customers and employees. The extent of the incursion is yet to be determined.

The breach is believed to have exposed names, birthdays, addresses and social security numbers. However, medical information or financial details like credit-card or bank-account numbers have not been exposed.

The stock closed up 0.5 percent at $137.65 on Wednesday.
