Audi, Subaru Top Consumer Reports Best Cars List

(RTTNews) - German luxury car maker Audi topped the Best Cars brank annual rankings from Consumer Reports.

Audi was followed by Subaru, Toyota Motor's Lexus brand, Porsche and BMW.

Audi, a unit of Volkswagen AG, was named best overall car brand based on the magazine's road-test performance, reliability, safety performance and active safety aids, and owner satisfaction.

Consumer Reports did not test any of Audi and Volkswagen diesel vehicles that have been pulled from dealerships after their recall and stop-sale last year for cheating on EPA emissions tests.

Among U.S. brands, General Motors's Buick came in seventh position, while Ford came in at 16 position. Toyota was ranked at 8 position.
