Bankers to Join Forces to Invent a Better Future

NEW YORK, Aug. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Former BBVA Compass executive Will Troutand former U.S. Bank executive JP Nicols today announced that they have co-founded the Bank Innovators Council , a group designed to help bankers work together to develop and test new ideas and solutions.

"Banks need to innovate new ideas to stay competitive, but doing that inside of banks is hard," stated Nicols. "FinTech (financial technology) companies have venture capitalists, incubators and hackathons to support them, but banks are on their own."

"Most banks are unable to afford their own innovation labs and teams," added Trout.  "But they can't afford not to innovate. We can help."

The group is hosting a launch event in New York on September 10th at 6:00PM for bank innovators. The launch coincides with the Finovate Conference, where 60 FinTech companies will demo their latest technology to an expected crowd of 1,000 bankers, investors and analysts.

"Finovate shows bankers a lot of cutting edge technologies," commented Trout. "We want to help bankers link that to their strategic goals, and help them prioritize and implement next steps. We have been there, and we know how important it is to know you're not alone."

Limited spots remain for the launch event and can be secured here.

About the Bank Innovators Council
The Bank Innovators Council is primarily designed for financial institutions lacking sufficient internal resources dedicated to innovation. The council will provide opportunities for members to pool their resources to develop and test new ideas outside of the day-to-day demands of their existing businesses, in ways they could not do alone.
