Broadwind Energy Opens Office in Hamburg, Germany
Broadwind Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:BWEN) today announced that it has opened an office in Hamburg, Germany, and named Michael Stegelmann as managing director of Broadwind Energy Europe GmbH.
"Many turbine manufacturers have engineering offices in the Hamburg area, and this new office will enable us to keep pace with rapidly evolving wind turbine technology,” said Lars Møller, president of technology and international at Broadwind. "We are pleased that Michael Stegelmann has joined Broadwind. He brings deep wind industry expertise and will help us stay close to existing and new customers both in Europe and Asia. We welcome Michael to the Broadwind team and appreciate the warm welcome from Hamburg’s city officials.”
Stegelmann joins Broadwind from REpower Systems AG, a leading turbine producer based in Germany, where he most recently served as senior vice president, global supply chain.
Stegelmann noted, "After many years on the buyer/supplier side of wind energy development, I am excited to join Broadwind to help grow its unique platform of wind energy solutions.”
