CVS Caremark Remedies Rising Costs with Ariba
Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARBA), the leading spend management solutions provider, today announced that it has signed a new agreement with CVS Caremark, the largest provider of prescriptions in the nation. Under the terms of the agreement, CVS Caremark will leverage Ariba’s on-demand offerings to identify opportunities for savings and quickly drive them to the bottom line.

To achieve its goals, CVS Caremark will implement Ariba® Sourcing™ On Demand and Ariba Contract Management™. A unique combination of the technology, expertise and services needed to create effective markets for direct materials and indirect goods and services, Ariba Sourcing On Demand will enable CVS Caremark to negotiate best-value contracts for a wide range of goods and services. With Ariba Contract Management, CVS Caremark can collaboratively create and manage contracts across categories and functions, including sales, finance, marketing, real estate, legal, procurement and IT and drive compliance with agreements on an enterprise-wide basis to ensure that savings negotiated actually reach the bottom line.
