FCC Taps John Erik Garr from Diamond Management & Technology Consultants to Work on National Broadband Plan

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has tapped Diamond Management & Technology Consultants’ John Erik Garr to help develop the FCC’s National Broadband Plan, aimed at ensuring that all U.S. citizens have access to broadband capability.

Garr, 39, a Partner in the Public Sector practice of Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTPI), has advised federal, state, and local agencies on a variety of strategic and operational issues. For example, he recently worked with a Diamond team to develop a broadband strategy for the City of New York, and earlier he led a project to close the digital divide in Sao Paulo, Brazil, by providing Internet access and job training to underprivileged communities.

At the FCC, Garr will act as the General Manager of the Omnibus Broadband Initiative that will develop the National Broadband Plan.

Adam Gutstein, President and CEO of Diamond Management & Technology Consultants, said: "The FCC has made an excellent choice. Erik has that rare combination of thought leadership and hands-on problem-solving experience that will be essential in tackling this important issue. Diamond believes in the transformational power of technology, and I expect that Erik’s service will help the FCC’s efforts to potentially improve the quality of life for millions of Americans who now lack access to broadband capability.”
