Mr. Collar joined P&G in 1975 as a sales representative working in Chicago. He held roles of increasing responsibility within Sales and then Advertising, helping develop or acquire many of the brands that became the multi-billion dollar Pharmaceuticals and Personal Health business unit. He eventually became that business unit's president – and a P&G corporate officer – until his retirement in 2008. For the past 8 years Mr. Collar has chaired the Advisory Board for the successful Ohio Third Frontier development program that is targeting over a billion dollars to boost Ohio's technology innovation and commercialization.  He serves on several other corporate and organization boards, but his passion for the Catholic Church and young people has led to his deep involvement in FOCUS.

Mr. Collar commented on his new role saying, "The goal of FOCUS is that by the end of the decade it will have deeply impacted the equivalent of at least two young adults for each of the 19,000 Catholic parishes in the U.S., with the expectation that these inspired Catholics will become ordained or lay leaders in the Church and help millions of others find the authentic joy that comes from a faithful life. In my role as chairman and as a senior advisor, I hope to broaden my efforts to help develop this wonderful organization as it seeks to deliver this compelling vision."

Mr. Collar and his wife Mary reside in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are the parents of three children.

In addition to Collar's appointment, the FOCUS board has added three new members:

William (Bill) Mumma has served as president of the Becket Fund since 2011. He spent 30 years on Wall Street, most recently as the CEO of Mitsubishi Securities USA. Previously, he was executive managing director of Nomura Securities International and Global Head of Derivatives for Bankers Trust. He is currently the Chairman of Georgetown University's Tocqueville Forum on the Roots of American Democracy and Chairman of the Board of the Oak Knoll School of the Holy Child in Summit, NJ.

Bill M. Newland is the former CEO and current chairman of Hercules Industries in Denver, CO and a member of the Denver chapter of the Catholic executive organization, Legatus.

Bill DeMucci works with several charitable organizations including The Augustine Institute, Martha's Village and Kitchen, Legatus, The Papal Foundation and now FOCUS. He is also Trustee Emeritus of Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital. Currently, Mr. DeMucci is a consultant to start-up companies and organizations in the U.S. and China. From 1981-2006 he served as president of Titron Media Co. Ltd., a company he co-founded.

Since FOCUS was founded in 1998 by Curtis Martin, FOCUS has grown from two part-time missionaries serving a single campus to the more than 355 full-time missionaries at work on 83 college campuses in 33 states (and D.C.) this academic year.

About FOCUS:

FOCUS is a national outreach that invites college students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church, inspiring and equipping them for a lifetime of Christ-centered evangelization, discipleship and friendships in which they lead others to do the same.
