Four BlackRock Closed-End Funds Announce Redemption of Auction Rate Preferred Shares
BlackRock Advisors, LLC today announced that BlackRock MuniYield California Quality Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MCA), BlackRock MuniYield New Jersey Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MYJ), BlackRock MuniYield New York Quality Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MYN) and BlackRock MuniYield Michigan Quality Fund, Inc. (NYSE: MIY) (each, a "Fund” and collectively, the "Funds”) intend to redeem all of their outstanding auction rate preferred shares ("ARPS”) for each series listed below, at the liquidation preference of $25,000 per share, together with accrued and unpaid dividends to the redemption date, if applicable. These redemptions will be funded by proceeds received from the issuance of Variable Rate Demand Preferred Shares, as announced on April 21, 2011.
