Harman International Names Sachin Lawande & Michael Mauser as Co-Presidents, Automotive Division

Harman International (NYSE: HAR) announced today that the Company has appointed Sachin Lawande and Michael Mauser as Co-Presidents of its Automotive Division. Both will serve as members of the Company’s Group Executive Committee, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. They succeed Klaus Blickle who has served as division head since 2008.

Mr. Mauser, based in Karlsbad, Germany, will direct automotive engineering and manufacturing with responsibility for project management, quality, procurement, and principal customer liaison for current projects. He will also direct the division’s regional heads in Asia and Americas. Mauser joined Harman in 1997 and has held a number of senior management positions including his most recent role as chief financial officer of the Company’s automotive division. He served earlier in a variety of finance and engineering positions for Daimler-Benz Aerospace, Inc., following receipt of his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.

Mr. Lawande, based at Harman’s corporate headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut, will direct the division’s strategic business units for Audio, Branded Audio and Infotainment, along with its technology Centers of Competence across Asia, Europe and North America. He will serve as principal customer liaison for core technology and future solutions developed through direct and partner resources. Lawande will retain his current role as Chief Technology Officer for Harman. His prior experience includes senior technology positions at Harman, QNX Software Systems, 3Com Corporation and AT&T Bell Laboratories. Lawande earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Southern Illinois University.
