Janet Mulvey is recognized by Continental Who's Who

BLUE POINT, N.Y., Jan. 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Who's Who recognizes Janet Mulvey as a Pinnacle Lifetime Member in recognition of her contributions to the educational field. 

Mulvey brings expertise in suspension, curriculum development, general education and special education. She has been in the education field for over 15 years, with the last three spent in her current role as the Director of the OASIS program of the TARA Center at Pace University. The program is a support program for students with Aspergers syndrome.

"I attribute my success to doing research and getting involved," Mulvey said. "My greatest career accomplishment is mentoring passionate teachers and young people to reach their potential, and making a difference in their lives."

Prior to taking on her current role, Mulvey indicates that she was a "former teacher at all levels – primary, middle and high school." She was also "a principal for 13 years" before she earned her Ph.D. in Educational Policy from Fordham University.

Mulvey earned her Bachelor's degree in Education, followed by her Master's degree, also in Education, from Long Island University. To further her professional development, she is a member of ASCD and Women for Women International.

When not working, Mulvey volunteers her time with African Angels, located in Kenya. She also lends support to Autism Speaks and enjoys kayaking and exercising at the gym.

Mulvey cites Bruce Cooper, Ph.D., and Mari-Jo Russell-O'Grady, Ph.D., as her mentors. She dedicates this recognition to her husband, John, and thanks him for his support.
