Kosmos Energy Turns To Profit In Q3 - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Oil and gas producer Kosmos Energy Ltd. (KOS) reported third-quarter net income was $19.1 million or $0.05 per share, compared with a loss of $44.5 million or $0.12 per share a year earlier. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.01 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Total revenues for the latest third quarter declined to $138.44 million from $215.38 million in the comparable quarter last year, while six analysts expected revenues of $183.41 million for the quarter.

Oil revenues were $137 million, down from $215 million, year ago. The decrease in revenue resulted largely from having one and one-half crude oil liftings from the Jubilee field during the quarter compared to two liftings in the third quarter of 2013. Realized oil price was $95.26 per barrel, up from $112.52 per barrel a year earlier.
