Nowadays, with the economic development, the demands for natural and high-quality pectin have been soaring at home and abroad. As a result, the sales volume of pectin has increased year by year. However, with the increasing demands, the pectin enterprises can't meet the need of market anymore.

So far, the world's largest pectin manufacturer is CP Kelco America with annual production over 14 million tonnes, followed by DuPont™ Danisco® America, Cargill Belgium, SKW France, Herbstreith & Fox Germany, Obipectin Switzerland and Andre Pectin China.

China, with development of technology, there have been 57 pectin enterprises with production permission nowadays. The resources for extracting pectin are mainly citrus and apple pomace. At present, China, with abundant pectin resources, still can't meet the demands of market as low utilization rate of materials, although the pectin output appears to be increasing steadily year by year. As a result, China needs to import pectin overseas. However, we believe that there may appear a great economic effect as long as the resources can be better utilized. According to ASKCI, the domestic pectin output tends to grow rapidly in the next few years. The pectin output would increase to 16 thousand tonnes by 2021.
