Piedmont Natural Gas Q3 Loss Widens

(RTTNews) - Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. (PNY) reported a net loss for the third quarter of $7.3 million or $0.09 per share, compared to a net loss of $2.3 million or $0.03 per share for the year-ago quarter.

Operating revenues for the third quarter grew 1% to $164.19 million from $162.94 million a year ago.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.07 per share on revenue of $176.55 million for the third quarter.

The company reaffirmed its revised fiscal year 2014 earnings guidance of $1.80 to $1.90 per share, with emphasis at the upper end of the range. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $1.89 per share for the fiscal year 2014.
