Raytheon Wins $12.9 Mln Cooperative Engagement Capability Contract
(RTTNews) - Defense contractor Raytheon Co. (RTN) said it has bagged a $12.92 million modification to a previously awarded contract to exercise options for Cooperative Engagement Capability or CEC for the AN/USG-2B Shipboard System and three planar array antenna assembly systems.
CEC is a sensor netting system that significantly improves battle force anti-air warfare capability by extracting and distributing sensor-derived information such that the superset of this data is available to all participating CEC units. CEC enhances battle force effectiveness by improving overall situational awareness and by enabling longer range, cooperative, multiple, or layered engagement strategies.
Fiscal 2013 Navy funding of $6.03 million and fiscal 2014 in the amount of $6.88 million would be obligated at time of award and won't expire at the current fiscal year end. Work would be performed in St. Petersburg and Largo, Fla., and is likely to be closed by September 2014. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting activity.
