Achilles' most obvious feature is a hole that sits directly at the knife's point of balance. The knife can be held with ease for people who are both left-handed and right-handed, and the unique combination of features earned Achilles the 2018 German Design Award for Excellent Product Design within the kitchen category.

At three-and-a-half inches, the paring knife is essentially a smaller version of the chef's knife and is ideal for peeling vegetables or cutting fruit. The bread knife is eight inches long, allowing it to seamlessly cut into various types of bread.
