Sound Transit Earns Highest Accreditation from NIGP
HERNDON, Va., Feb. 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- NIGP: The Institute for Public Procurement announced today the award of its highest accreditation to Sound Transit in Seattle, Washington. Pareto Accreditation is earned through successful completion of a rigorous agency self-assessment and third-party documentation review and on-site agency evaluation.
In a congratulatory message to Sound Transit's leadership, Rick Grimm, NIGP CEO, characterized the agency's procurement operation as "stand[ing] tall as a prime example of professionalism and proficiency in transit authority procurement."
Since the accreditation's introduction in 2003, nine public procurement entities have pursued and achieved Pareto Accreditation.
The Pareto Award of Excellence in Public Procurement was established to recognize agencies distinguishing their procurement operations as "best in class" based on a performance review across six domains of practice: Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer Service, Process Management, Information Management and Performance Improvement.
