Synaptics Inc Bottom Line Falls 28% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Synaptics Inc (SYNA) announced a profit for third quarter that retreated from last year.

The company said its earnings totaled $46.0 million, or $1.21 per share. This was down from $63.5 million, or $1.65 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.51 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 15.7% to $402.5 million. This was down from $477.6 million last year.
