As the name would imply, the Big and Tall set has been stretched and pulled to feature 12 blocks that are double the height of a traditional wooden blocks and eight blocks of standard scale.
The latest decorative wooden block set from Uncle Goose was designed in partnership with House Industries®, one of the world's most prolific type foundries. The latest introduction represents the 10th Uncle Goose product developed in conjunction with House Industries.
"We love these blocks," said Pete Bultman, proprietor of Uncle Goose. "The elongated lines stretch the blocks physically, but they encourage us to stretch our minds as well to think non-traditionally; not just about these blocks, but about the concept of 'play' and what great toys are all about."
Uncle Goose stepped outside the boundaries of the iconic childhood toy several years ago to develop decorative block sets featuring the periodic table of elements, U.S. Presidents and non-traditional designs. The unique blocks received immediate and profound support; museums including The Metropolitan Museum of Art (NY, NY), The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA; NY, NY) and Guggenheim Museum (NY, NY) began stocking Uncle Goose blocks in their gift shops, and the design community has gravitated towards Uncle Goose's instinctive creative aesthetic.
Uncle Goose remains one of the last handmade wooden toy block manufacturers in the world. Its traditional alphabet blocks feature non-toxic inks and are made from sustainable basswood sourced from the U.S.
