US Airways Group October Traffic, Capacity Rise - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - US Airways Group, Inc. (LCC) reported that its traffic in October 2013 increased 5.1% from October 2012, on a capacity increase of 8.5%.

The airline said its October 2013 traffic rose 5.1% to 5.54 billion revenue passenger miles or RPMs from 5.27 billion RPMs in the same period last year.

The airline's October 2013 capacity was 6.66 billion available seat miles or ASMs, up 8.5% from 6.14 billion ASMs in the prior year period.

Load factor for the month was 83.1%, down 2.7 points from 85.8% last year.

US Airways' President Scott Kirby said, "Our October consolidated passenger revenue per available seat mile (PRASM) increased approximately one percent versus the same period last year..... As we head into the busy holiday travel period, we look forward to delivering a superior travel experience to all of our customers."
