VeriFone Systems, Inc Profit Advances 2% In Q2

(RTTNews) - VeriFone Systems, Inc (PAY) revealed earnings for its second quarter that increased compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $51.9 million, or $0.47 per share. This was up from $50.9 million, or $0.44 per share, in last year's second quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.52 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 8.6% to $532 million. This was up from $490 million last year.
